ABOUT SWM MOTORS

SWM was founded in Italy in 1971. After being acquired by Shineray Holding in 2014, SWM became part of Brilliance Shineray Chongqing Automobile Co., Ltd. in 2016, under the name SWM Motors.

The design bureau in Milan, Italy, is entirely inspired by Italian aesthetics. In addition to design, it develops innovations at its Research and Development Center in Chongqing, China. SWM Motors produces 300,000 vehicles and 300,000 engines annually in the Fuling District of Chongqing.
Research and Development
SWM Motors has a research and development center in Chongqing, China, and a design bureau in Milan, Italy.

With more than 1,000 employees, the Research and Development Center encompasses independent development systems related to vehicle design, engine development and performance optimization. SWM Motors also boasts a high level of design capabilities in terms of data analysis, Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) design, reliability verification, chassis integration and full-vehicle electronic integration.
SWM Motors manufacturing company in Chongqing introduces one of the most advanced manufacturing systems in the world.
With an area of 1,136,000 m² and a total investment of 4.5 billion Chinese yuan, the SWM company's production base was built in two phases. The complex includes two factories, one in the south and one in the north, with an annual capacity of 300,000 vehicles and 300,000 engines.

With the involvement of BMW designers, SWM Motors has adopted the Brilliance BMW quality management system as a basis for improving research and development, as well as manufacturing quality. Thanks to on-site inspections and quality checks conducted by the former BMW Group quality director, Franz Golman, all vehicles are manufactured in accordance with European standards.
